Titera's Tidbit: Byzantium
The Greek name for the region with the capital of Constantinople (now Istanbul) - that is, Constantine's city - was a crowded place thanks to its wealth and physical position at a crossroads of continents. Buzen means "close together". Byzantion or "Byzantium", thus came to mean the place where people were packed tighter than sardines.
