Titera's Tidbit: Javelina
Formally called the "collared peccary", the "javelina" is a distant relative of the pig, ranging in the wild from South America to the American Southwest. Its name derives from the Spanish jabali or jabalin, meaning "wild boar", which in turn comes from the Arabic jabal, mountain - the same root that gives us Gibraltar, "the mountain of Tariq".
