Titera's Tidbit: Roach Motel
Named for the famed product in which roaches "go in, but don't come out", the phrase "roach motel" is now used to refer to any inextricable or difficult situation. "We invested in that second house just when the market disappeared, and now all our money is tied up in that 'roach motel'." The implication is never good.
